NOKIA MUSIC CONNECTS INDIA: ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY FOR CANADIAN ARTISTS
From Australia to India, Canadian Music Week is continuously on the foreground, scouting new partnerships and opportunities, and opening doors to new markets for emerging Canadian bands and artists. Our partner this time around is Nokia Music Connects India – a gathering of music business professionals focused on issues facing the music industry in India. Last year’s inaugural Nokia Music Connects featured over 500 attendees and drew in speakers from all areas of the Indian music industry. This year, taking place September 1-2, 2010 in Mumbai, the conference extends to two days and promises to deliver another stellar event.
Through our partnership with the event, two export-ready Canadian acts will have the chance to perform at Nokia Music Connects India. If you are interested in this opportunity, here are some of the criteria you will need to qualify:
- Must have released a nationally distributed recording in the last 24 months
- Upcoming confirmed bookings and/or demonstrated tour commitment
- A strong professional history and/or industry recognition
- An established team (ie. management, publicist, etc.)
- Radio and/or Video play
If you are export-ready, please submit your name, contact info, website/Myspace links, etc. to bessie@cmw.net by June 30th. All submissions will be reviewed by a committee and final selections will be made by the organizers of Nokia Music Connects India along with input from Canadian Music Week.

I had an Nokia N82 which had lasted me some time and was beating away all pretenders to the throne. It had proved a very capable phone with its highly regarded camera and the stability of S60 3rd Edition. That said I had wanted a change for a good while, only nothing that came along was managing to get my pulse racing. I had been thinking the iPhone 3GS was next on my list but, to be sure I liked an all touch screen device, I decided to test the water with a Nokia 5800.
Really great platform for the Indian singers to perform and establish their identity in Canada if any guy r gal wanna to listen pure Indian Bangra and Bollywood music Just Visit @ http://www.toronto.pk
